Crisis training

The best crisis training is that which combines real life, operational experiences and stories with classroom efficiency. We bring that experience to the classroom, building on our decades of experience working at operational facilities in the US, Asia, and South America. We’ve worked through many crisis events in different countries, the most intense being the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill in the US.

Most crises aren’t as intense at a major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, but they will have similar issues and challenges. And the leadership qualities required are the same for a small event as for a large, black swan event. Our training will help your team develop the knowledge, experience, and leadership skills needed to manage your worst-case crisis event.

And we’ll customize training to fit your team and to offer the most impact and development opportunity. Leading in a crisis is very different from just showing up. Your crisis leaders need to understand how a crisis develops, the issues they are likely to face, the social media storm that may hit them, and the command processes that may be needed for a joint response with state and federal agencies.

We specialize in working with communications teams and stakeholder/government affairs teams. We’ll provide them with the tools they can use to successfully lead a crisis response. And then we’ll test them through crisis exercises.

We will also help you engage your employees and leadership through a fit-for-purpose training program that combines entertaining remote training sessions with highly impactful classroom training. Not everyone needs to spend a day in the classroom getting up to speed on your plan; some may only need a two-hour primer to create awareness. We provide multiple training options to help you deliver your crisis plan in the most cost-effective way.
